An innovative master’s degree in digital media delivered online by the acclaimed UNC J-School.

Introduction to the MATC

Dramatic changes in the way news and information are created and delivered in today’s wired world have left many journalists and communication professionals searching for ways to update their skills and knowledge. The UNC School of Journalism and Mass Communication now offers an online master’s degree that focuses on interactive media, the Internet and digital economics, addressing issues that are reshaping journalism and mass communication in the 21st century. This new degree draws on the expertise of the School’s acclaimed faculty to position students for leadership roles in digital media and Web-based communication.

Classes are taught online, allowing working professionals to advance their educations while maintaining their work and family responsibilities. Students travel to Chapel Hill twice, for a weekend orientation before starting the program and for a weeklong summer residency after completing the first year.
